President’s Greeting
October 2008
Hello
CSI members! We started the year with a great meeting in September.
We made our annual scholarship awards to four deserving students,
Alison Ballweg, Michael Stern, Zeke Tessmer and Joel Vande Boom.
We also had a very informative program presentation on contract
dispute resolution by John Domaszek and Josh Levy of Crivello
Carlson. It was a good kick-off to our year and I hope those in
attendance enjoyed it as much as I did.
One of the goals of my presidency is to get more people involved
in the business of the chapter by joining and participating in
one of our committees. To keep this chapter exciting and fresh
we need input and ideas from all its members. All it requires
is an hour or two each month. The chapter wins by receiving your
contribution and you win by getting to know a few of your fellow
members a bit better and enlarging your professional network.
A second goal for the year is to increase the membership of the
chapter. We have already added a couple new members and the membership
committee is building momentum. The new member luncheon at Chez
Jacques was attended by eight recently pinned members and five
of us more seasoned members. It was a wonderful opportunity to
enjoy a light lunch and talk about CSI.
Finally, a big shout out to Justin Ritter who has stepped forward
to take over the event coordinator position from Pat Fadden. The
board will assist Justin in learning the position and hopefully
the new reservation email address (csi.milw.rsvp@gmail.com)
will help ease the load. The best thing about working the desk
at the meetings is you get to meet and talk to everyone at the
meeting. I’m sure that Justin will not turn down an assistant
so if this appeals to you, let me know. And let’s use that
reservation hotline. See you at the October 27th meeting.
